Quick Update

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

Hey y’all. I know that visiting my blog over the last few weeks hasn’t been very interesting. Nothing new has really popped up, but I assure you stuff has been happening!

I’m going to spend tonight on my cousin Lance’s kibbutz (Kibbutz Yiftach) up north, and then have Pesach seder with him and his family tomorrow night at Gesher Haziv (near Nahariya, near Sfat) before returning to Tel Aviv for five nights. Then, hopefully, I’ll get some time to finish (and start!) some articles to keep everyone updated on Shnat!

Lots of love to all from Israel. Chag Pesach Sameach.

Shnat Update: What Am I Going To Do?

Wednesday, April 13th, 2005

April 13 — Well, it looks like I will be staying now. Nothing confirmed yet by Habo, but it seems like Habo will let me stay. Fingers crossed. They’ve done some silly things before, silly unexplained things, although this would take the cake. I’ll cross my fingers. But if they say no, they can expect a big fight, because Yuval is on my side. Which is an amazing feeling to have. I’ll update my blog once I know what’s going on…

April 7 — Well, I still don’t know whether I want to stay for the whole year or come back in July, with the latter what’s happening at the moment, because Habo ‘won’t take responsibility for me’, whatever that really means. Basically here’s the gist of my thoughts so far:I think I might want to fight Habo and see if I can stay for the rest of the year. Last night the Aussie Haboniks surprised me and held a bit of a ‘Keep Liam On Shnat’ meeting, asking me what I wanted to do, and then disregarding it and saying that they’ll fight anyway. But seriously, I’ve also spoken to George, the Habo SA madrich who was my mad in year 12, and he gave me a few ideas on jobs for kibbutz (like organising everyone and everything and running peulot for the group; so not contributing to the kibbutz by working for them, but contributing to my group) so that might be something to consider, and then Kaveret will be amazing, so that I’d love to do.

So basically I’ll talk to Habo over the weekend, and see what’s going on. My madrichim, as well as Vered (the coordinator of our program) will be there, so I’ll chat to them and see what’s going on, and what my options are.

Hopefully on Sunday I’ll have a better idea of what’s happening.
