Myer gets naughty!

Australia’s big retail chain Myer has its yearly Christmas shop-front windows to display something Christmasy. . It’s not really my thing, but it’s a nice attraction nonetheless.

This year some of the characters malfunctioned and needless to say, ’something’ occurred. Take a look:

iPod Nano (2G)So, my sister bought a brand-new second generation iPod nano yesterday, and it turns out that Cupertino included a bit of a joke for those with good enough eyes to read the fine print on the back of the even-more-beautiful-than-the-iPod case:

“Like a fine pair of jeans, iPod nano colours may vary and change over time.”

Sure it’s a shame that an iPod’s colour will fade, but what a great way to say it… with such style!

R.I.P. Milton Friedman

On the morning that I started re-reading his book “Free To Choose” I now find that he died peacefully last night at the age of 94.
Not much needs to be said about Milton Friedman, such was his impact on modern society. He picked up the baton left by Adam Smith and carried it with an invisible hand to leaders like Reagen and Thatcher, pioneering their policies.

So, R.I.P modern father of neo-liberalism laissez-faire economics.

Now that the Democrats have control of Congress it’s interesting to see what some respected journalists have to say about it:
